We are seeking an experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nutrition care to adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with diabetes.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients requiring nutritional intervention, interpreting and evaluating nutrition, health status, lab and medical data, and providing appropriate treatment recommendations. This includes assisting patients with insulin dose titration, monitoring and interpreting blood glucose levels, and developing and maintaining updated nutrition care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients requiring nutritional intervention and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans to promote optimal glycemic control and overall health outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on diabetes management, including self-monitoring of blood glucose, insulin administration, and healthy eating habits.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and clinical guidelines to provide best-practice care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) and eligibility for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC).
  • At least two years of recent experience as a Clinical Dietitian in an academic health sciences centre.
  • Experience working with patients with diabetes and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What We Offer

KHSC offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
