About the Role

Xcel Construction Limited is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Plumber to join our team. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will be responsible for assisting experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine the layout of plumbing systems and identify potential issues.
  • Prepare and submit estimates for materials and labor required for plumbing projects.
  • Collaborate with experienced plumbers to complete tasks and achieve project goals.
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and specifications for plumbing projects.
  • Measure, cut, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Supervise and assist other workers as needed.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling required to perform tasks.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate tools and equipment.
  • Handling heavy loads and working at heights.
  • Overtime required to meet project deadlines.
