About the Role

Xcel Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Apprentice Plumber to join our team. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will be responsible for assisting experienced plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine the layout of plumbing systems and identify potential issues.
  • Prepare and submit estimates for materials and labor required for plumbing projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for plumbing projects.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges to ensure the integrity of plumbing systems.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing to ensure efficient and safe plumbing systems.
  • Supervise other workers on plumbing projects to ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
  • Estimate costs and materials required for plumbing projects to ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed designs and plans for plumbing projects.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size to ensure precise plumbing installations.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the success of the company.
