Job Description

This role involves the preparation and processing of customs clearance documentation, ensuring accurate and timely release of imports. As a key liaison between customers, internal teams, and Customs personnel, you will play a crucial part in maintaining Farrow's high service standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify documents for completeness, including dates, descriptions, and values, to ensure all necessary information is present for processing.
  • Contact clients, branches, or other brokers to obtain additional documents or information as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries, tracing shipments and setting up pre-arrivals at Customs.
  • Rating for release as required.
  • Assist with training new employees and perform various administrative tasks such as sorting, matching, and stapling documents, printing, faxing, and scanning.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least six months of brokerage operations experience.
Competencies and Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to release complex entries and solve problems independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fast and accurate keyboard skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Basic mathematical calculations and proficiency with standard business applications (MS Office, email, internet) and office equipment.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to focus on computer screens and written materials for extended periods.
  • Capacity to work under deadlines and related stresses.
  • Must be willing to work some statutory holidays and potentially off-shifts.
