Job Overview

St. Croix Hospice seeks a seasoned Business Development Director to spearhead our growth strategy, cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and customers.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional leader who can drive business development initiatives, expand our customer base, and negotiate strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development plans to achieve annual growth targets.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, healthcare professionals, and customers.
  • Negotiate and finalize service contracts with skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.
  • Coordinate daily business operations, including direct oversight of business development initiatives.
  • Manage CRM and activity for the business development team.
  • Work closely with the Director of Patient Services to establish patient volume projections and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Conduct market assessments and develop comprehensive marketing plans to meet budgetary patient volume projections.
  • Employ marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve budgetary patient volume projections.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
  • Assist in recruitment, selection, orientation, and supporting the business development team.
  • Build and monitor community, customer, payer, and patient perceptions of St. Croix Hospice.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Director of Patient Services in strategic planning, including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of markets, including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor's market positioning.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge in the field of hospice business development and share information with relevant personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a healthcare-related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least one (1) to three (3) years' experience in health care business development management, preferably in hospice care operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to aggressively grow business and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Knowledge of corporate business management.
  • Demonstrates good communications skills, negotiation skills, and public relations skills.
  • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum
