Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in cardiac services to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital's Admitted Cardiac Intervention Unit (ACIU).

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and provide direct care through observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.
  • Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
  • Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient responses according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency in designated clinical area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers using verbal, written, and electronic means.
