We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and experienced nurse to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health conditions.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with serious mental health and bio-psychosocial problems. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients' physical and psychosocial needs
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans that address clients' unique needs and goals
  • Providing psycho-education to clients and their support systems
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A degree in nursing from an approved institution
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • At least one year of recent related mental health experience in an acute, tertiary, or community setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
