We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Employment and Social Development Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing quality nursing services to First Nations populations.

Job Description

In this position, you will be part of the Manitoba Public Health Response Team, delivering comprehensive health programs that promote, protect, and preserve the health of First Nations communities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing evidence-informed nursing services to community members
  • Reducing inequities in healthcare through community engagement and home-based wellness campaigns
  • Collaborating with community members to promote environments that support good health

You will work closely with community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective health programs. Your expertise in public health nursing will enable you to provide education and mentorship to strengthen health literacy and improve health system processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing
  • Recent experience as a Registered Nurse providing public health or community healthcare services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and isolated areas

You should also possess experience in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, as well as any additional qualifications listed below:

Additional Qualifications

Please note that preference will be given to candidates with experience in immunizations, maternal-child development, infection control, mental health programs, and electronic medical records.
