Lead Intelligence Strategist for Manitoba Public Safety

A rewarding opportunity exists within the Manitoba Government for an accomplished Academic Director to join our Public Safety Division as a key member of the management team.
About the RoleThis position is responsible for leading and managing the Manitoba Criminal Intelligence Centre (MCIC) within the Manitoba Intelligence Branch (MIB), providing strategic advice and support to the Executive Director. The MCIC plays a vital role in addressing the intelligence needs of law enforcement within the province, ensuring jurisdictional coordination of criminal intelligence and analytics.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction in the design and implementation of legislation, policies, and programs related to public safety.
- Develop and manage operational plans, budgets, and resources to achieve strategic objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with senior officials from municipal, provincial, federal, and international agencies/organizations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement through various channels.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate with:
- A strong background in senior management, particularly in operational policing, organized crime, and criminal intelligence.
- Experience working in integrated policing environments and building mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Proven ability to translate strategic priorities into clear operational plans and manage change effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Political acumen and experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on complex topics.
