Event Planning and Management

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Event Director to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing high-impact events that amplify and engage key audiences for RBC's thought leadership initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously. You will lead the end-to-end development and execution of events, including virtual, hybrid, and in-person formats. This includes coordinating logistics such as venue selection, catering, AV setup, event registration, and on-site staffing.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of event concepts and agendas in collaboration with researchers, writers, and amplification teams to align with thought leadership priorities.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with high-profile speakers, industry experts, and vendors, to deliver exceptional events.
  • Actively build and maintain relationships with key audiences, including CEOs, business leaders, sustainability practitioners, and government officials.
  • Partner with the amplification team to promote events through social media, email marketing, and RBC-owned channels.
  • Create event materials, such as invites, agendas, follow-up reports, and summary notes.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in event planning and management, including experience with executive-level and/or thought leadership events.
  • Proven success in managing large-scale events as well as high-profile, executive gatherings and roundtables.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging senior-level stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with virtual and hybrid event platforms (e.g., Webex, Slido).
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards Program, including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for career growth and development.
