Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Transportation Operations Specialist to work closely with carrier partners, resolve issues related to delivery, pickup or returns, and ensure pricing is applied correctly. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively present information to various organizational levels.


Responsibilities and Duties
  • Audit carriers invoices against contract terms and approve transportation invoices for payment.
  • Work closely with carrier partners, Specialty Operations, 3PL Operations, and the pharmacy network to resolve issues and answer questions related to delivery, pickup, or returns.
  • Evaluate business processes and design, develop, and provide data to implement improvements that reduce costs, improve effectiveness, and enhance quality.
  • Develop and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly transportation KPIs (key performance indicators).
  • Create/prepare and gather data for transportation request for proposal's (RFP's) and carrier conversions.
  • Collaborate with carriers and the Transportation Manager to improve service reporting and performance.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Broad training in fields such as transportation, business administration, logistics, or similar vocations obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of five years directly related and progressively responsible experience in the courier industry, with small package and LTL experience being a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Strong computer skills to operate effectively with company ERP and TMS systems, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of automated freight pay and audit processes.
