Mental Health Specialist

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team in the Schools Plus initiative. As a member of a school-based multidisciplinary team, you will provide mental health services to children and adolescents in designated school settings.
About You- We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.
- Minimum two years' experience providing mental health services to preschoolers, children, and adolescents within a mental health setting.
- Knowledge of the DSM-IV-5 and ability to screen for, assess, and conceptualize common childhood mental health disorders.
- Demonstrated diagnostic experience completing mental health assessments and implementing evidence-based treatment plans.
- Ability to screen for concurrent mental health disorders and knowledge of the impact of substance use on other mental health disorders.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
This is a permanent part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $49.04.
