We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Social Worker, you will provide mental health services directly in the school community environment within designated Schools Plus schools.
The successful candidate will be a member of a school-based multidisciplinary team and will participate in the planning, development, provision, and evaluation of mental health services for the assigned population in designated school settings.
The service will focus on early identification and intervention of mental health disorders for children and adolescents within the school population. The Social Worker will act as a liaison between the client, school, and mental health services.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work and current registration with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) or eligibility to be registered.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience providing mental health services to preschoolers, children, and adolescents within a mental health setting.
The successful candidate will possess knowledge of the DSM-IV-5 and the ability to use it to screen for, assess, and conceptualize common childhood mental health disorders.
The candidate will also have demonstrated diagnostic experience completing mental health assessments and implementing evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents.
We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent part-time position, with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $49.04 per hour.
