Disability Management Lead

Northern Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Disability Management Lead to join our Workplace Health and Safety team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialized consultation and coordination on matters related to occupational and non-occupation illness or injury. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the Duty to Accommodate (DTA) process, including negotiation, approval, and sign-off of DTA agreements on behalf of the Employer and case management of complex occupational and non-occupational claims.
Provide complex disability case management services to employees, including interpreting medical/clinical information, promoting return to work efforts, and developing modified and/or alternate work opportunities to mitigate absences due to occupational and non-occupational injury and/or illness.
Provide leadership to Management, Human Resources, Unions, and Employees regarding the need for health assessments in determining work suitability to mitigate Employer/Employee risk and provide consultation and expertise on policies relative to general and specific medical absences and rehabilitation issues.
Represent the Employer in third-party proceedings and/or assist counsel/HR Advisors in case preparation; the Lead will also represent the Employer on Provincial initiatives.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline, such as Occupational Health Nursing, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Therapy.
Five (5) to seven (7) years' recent related disability management experience.
Current registration with the appropriate professional licensing body.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to type 60 wpm.
Ability to organize workload and set priorities, as well as demonstrate flexibility in meeting multiple demands and deadlines without supervision.
Ability to effectively utilize software programs required for professional-quality reporting, communication, webpage, and e-learning development (MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Live Meeting, Captivate, and Publisher).
Ability to efficiently gather research data as requested or required using a variety of methods.
Basic knowledge of WSBC legislation is an asset.
