Disability Management Lead

As a key member of our Workplace Health & Safety team, the Disability Management Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring a healthy and safe work environment. Responsibilities
• Provide specialized consultation and coordination on matters related to occupational and non-occupational illness or injury
• Manage the Duty to Accommodate (DTA) process, including negotiation, approval, and sign-off of DTA agreements on behalf of the Employer and the case management of complex occupational and non-occupational claims
• Provide complex disability case management services to employees, coordinating all aspects of managing their absence, including interpreting medical/clinical information, promoting return-to-work efforts, and developing modified and/or alternate work opportunities
• Contribute to the development and implementation of related HR policies and procedures and educational programs and training materials
• Collaborate with Management, Human Resources, Unions, and Employees to promote a culture of health and wellbeing and provide consultation and expertise on policies relative to general and specific medical absences and rehabilitation issues

Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline, such as Occupational Health Nursing, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Therapy
• Five to seven years' recent related disability management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Current registration with the appropriate professional licensing body
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to type 60 wpm
• Ability to organize workload and set priorities, as well as demonstrate flexibility in meeting multiple demands and deadlines without supervision
• Ability to efficiently gather research data as requested or required using a variety of methods
• Basic knowledge of WSBC legislation an asset
