Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a consistent, healthy, and safe environment for children and youth, including regular bed checks and night-time supports as required.
  • Provide wake-up calls, assist with morning routines, and drive school-aged children to school on school days.
  • Assist with meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry, and maintain a clean and organized living space.
  • Be a positive role model, empathetic listener, and teach/mentor age-appropriate living skills.
  • Cooperate with other team members to plan and deliver culturally appropriate programs and services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Child and Youth Work, preferably in a group home and/or community setting.
  • Experience supporting Indigenous children and youth is an asset.
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, or related field.
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate, Suicide Intervention, Self-Harm, Crisis Intervention, and Medication Administration training.
  • Indigenous Awareness and cultural diversity training.
  • Able to work and follow WJS Canada policies and procedures.
