Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse with a strong background in oncology-palliative care to join our dynamic team. Your goal in this position is to provide excellent patient and family-driven care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

About the Role:

  • Provide direct patient care, assessing and addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality by adhering to hospital policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement, and participating in quality initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and education in oncology-palliative care, applying this knowledge to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized community college
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Recent experience in medicine/general surgery or oncology-palliative care preferred
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset

What We Offer:

We offer a highly competitive total compensation package, including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the hospital pension plan. This is a part-time permanent position, with 8- and 12-hour shifts, days, evenings, and nights, including weekends.

Salary: $73,695 per year (based on 37.5 hours/week)
