About the RoleAs a Pharmaceuticals Accounting and Payroll Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, from payroll processing to accounting and reporting. This exciting opportunity combines two key areas of expertise, providing a comprehensive understanding of both financial management and human resources.
You will be responsible for:
- Processing payroll transactions accurately and efficiently using Workday, collaborating closely with HR to ensure timely and error-free payments.
- Managing employees' enrollments, changes, and terminations in our benefit program, as well as submitting RRSP & TFSA remittances/reports to the benefit provider after each payroll cycle.
- Performing special/off-cycle payroll as required, posting all payroll and bonus journal entries, and preparing monthly payroll analysis reports to explain payroll variances.
- Working with our payroll vendor to balance T4s and dispatch them to employees before the due date, while also assisting with year-end audits and testing/validation for Workday changes requested by Corporate.
- Filing annual WSIB returns with relevant authorities and communicating with CRA on payroll remittances issues/queries, including employees' ROEs, HST/QST, etc.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also:
- Prepare commercial and clinical sales revenue forecast files for sales calls, run AR aging reports, and assist in month-end closing processes and variance analysis.
- Assist with cash application when required, coordinate with Purchasers for ordering office and warehouse supplies, and perform other duties as assigned by your Manager/Supervisor.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal. You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in accounting or a related field.
- Previous payroll experience with Workday is preferred, as is accounting experience in the pharmaceutical or packaged goods industry.
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel) and ERP systems like JDE/SAP or Oracle.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including knowledge of and adherence to PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, and rules.
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but we welcome applications from candidates across the country.
