JALA ACCOUNTING is seeking a skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, maintaining financial records, and establishing, maintaining and balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. You will also be responsible for maintaining general ledgers and financial statements, posting journal entries, and preparing other statistical, financial and accounting reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns and reconciling accounts. The ideal candidate will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting. The work term is permanent, and the work language is English. The hours of work are 35 to 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
- Maintain financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Post journal entries
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
- Prepare tax returns
- Reconcile accounts
