The Registration/Scheduling Clerk is a vital member of our Health Information Services team at IWK Health Centre. This role involves providing exceptional patient care and support by registering patients, processing medical records, and coordinating physician clinic time.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately enter patient information into our electronic health record system
• Complete various health forms and consents as required
• Assist with quality audits and corrections
• Liaise with departments within the health centre and other health centres
• Receive and relay messages via phone and fax
• Maintain medical records and supplies
• Provide training to new staff as needed
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of a recognized business or secretarial program is an asset
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
• Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required
• Competencies in other languages are an asset
