Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Data Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of geospatial data analysis and digital earth data processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver course materials on geospatial data analysis and digital earth data processing
  • Teach and mentor students in the use of GIS software and scripting languages
  • Conduct research and publish papers on geospatial data analysis and digital earth data processing
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement geospatial data analysis and digital earth data processing projects

Requirements

  • Masters in geography, geospatial science, environmental science, urban planning, earth science, or a related field (PhD preferred)
  • Proficiency in GIS software including ArcGIS Pro required and coding skills highly desired
  • Knowledge of practical applications required and published research on GIS desired
