About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Carpenter to join our team at PCM-Pomeroy Construction and Maintenance Ltd. As a Construction Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings, bridges, and other structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure that construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and Install Building Components: Prepare and install building components, such as walls, floors, and roofs, using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Measure and Cut Materials: Measure and cut materials, such as wood, wood substitutes, and steel, to ensure accurate and precise construction.
  • Assemble and Join Materials: Assemble and join materials, such as wood and steel, to create strong and durable structures.
  • Maintain and Repair Buildings: Maintain and repair buildings, bridges, and other structures to ensure they are safe and functional.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction or a related field.
  • Work Setting: Construction sites, various locations.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Hand tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work with minimal supervision, accurate, client focus, judgement, reliability.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, judgement, reliability.
  • Workplace Information: On the road job, 40 hours per week.
