About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at PGG Construction Corp. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of finishes in our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fits and finishes.
  • Install Windows, Doors, and Staircases: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Site Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects and meet client expectations.
  • Training and Supervision: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure they meet the required standards of quality and safety.
  • Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials required for projects and plan work schedules to ensure efficient use of resources.
Work Environment

As a Finish Carpenter at PGG Construction Corp, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying work settings, including commercial, residential, and millwork/pre-fab shopwork. You will be required to work at heights, in noisy and dusty conditions, and may be exposed to tight deadlines and physically demanding work.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, and combination of sitting, standing, and walking are required. Steel-toed safety boots are a must.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in the workplace.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as required.
