About the Opportunity

The Health Support Aide is a key member of a collaborative healthcare team that provides support to clients accessing Public Health Services. This role involves routine health and clinic navigational support, basic client care, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) support, preparing workspaces, and maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies. The role also includes providing post-immunization observation support and other support functions. Travel on the Public Health Mobile Unit (van) is a requirement of this position.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill this role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods training (an asset)
  • Current BCLS or CPR training (an asset)
  • Demonstrated physical ability to lift and transfer heavy loads (more than 18kg)
  • Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated client-focused, customer service and diversity-relevant approaches to care and work
  • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Competencies in other languages (an asset)
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to change
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer and phone applications for Microsoft Word, Excel, OneDrive, and Outlook
  • Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle for work travel

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time (100%) position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$19.26 - $20.02 Hourly
