Salary and BenefitsCompetitive pay rates: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include paid orientation and on-the-job training, support in obtaining Nova Scotia CCA certification, occupational health services, access to ongoing education, and a wireless phone.
Job DescriptionAs a Healthcare Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing service to residents/clients in accordance with individual care plans developed by RN Clinical Leaders and interdisciplinary teams. Your tasks will include:
- Performing light housekeeping duties (e.g., tidying rooms, cleaning closets, hanging clothing)
- Providing personal care (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Assisting residents with meals and between-meal refreshments
- Providing respite to families and caregivers
- Engaging residents/families in leisure/recreational activities on units
- Facilitating resident/family participation in recreation programs
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Grade 12 or equivalency
- Current Emergency First-Aid with Level C CPR certification
- A minimum of 12 months of relevant work or volunteer experience
- Experience in one or more areas: Senior Care, Young Adult Care, Group Home, caring for family members/friends, Child Care, or being a current CCA student with a successful completion of first skills development placement
This role will involve working in various locations across Halifax and Chester, NS, with flexible options available for days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
