Mayers Care is seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our residents. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompanying patients on outdoor recreational activities
  • Assisting with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment
  • Assisting with maintenance and repair of medical equipment
  • Performing other duties related to patient care and comfort
  • Performing other duties related to personal care
  • Supplying and emptying bed pans
  • Taking patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse
  • Serving meal trays and feeding patients
  • Weighing, lifting, turning and positioning patients
  • Delivering messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments
  • Making beds and maintaining patients' rooms
  • Supervising patients' exercise routines
  • Administering suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies
  • Bathing, dressing and grooming patients
  • Transporting patients between care facilities
  • Transporting patients in wheelchair or stretcher
  • Answering call signals to determine patients' needs
  • Collecting specimens
  • Preparing patients for surgery by washing, shaving and sterilizing operative areas
  • Administering first aid in emergency situations
  • Working Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
