Job Title: Credit & Collections Analyst

Description

HSE Integrated is seeking a skilled Credit & Collections Analyst to join our team at our head office in Calgary. As a key member of our accounting team, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all Credit & Accounts Receivable processes are followed to mitigate credit risks. This role is responsible for applying the credit policy, maintaining integrity and client confidentiality, and ensuring the effective and timely resolution of issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote prompt payment from customers, analyzing client payment processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Analyze and support credit approval and review processes, approving credit limits up to $5,000 and initiating limits over $5,000 as per the Director of Accounting's approval.
  • Conduct thorough account research and analysis to identify potential credit risks and develop recommendations for mitigation.
  • Escalate issues to the right resources, developing action plans and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues.
  • Assist with special projects as requested, providing support to the accounting team as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external client contacts, establishing the credit & collection team as a trusted resource.
  • Communicate with clients via phone, email, and mail regarding billing matters, coordinating with the sales or operations teams to facilitate resolution.
  • Proactively review accounts receivable aging status, following up with customers to resolve outstanding accounts and engaging with management on any issues encountered.
  • Responsible for daily cash application and reporting for period ends.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a small to mid-sized organization with exposure to Canada's energy sector.
  • A credit specialization (FCI or CCP) completed or in progress would be an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and often fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, assuming responsibility for managing multiple priorities.
  • Positive, enthusiastic demeanor with a passion for customer service.
  • Commitment to results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills, including intermediate/advanced experience in MS Excel (Power Query, VLOOKUP's, Pivot tables).
  • Comfortable knowledge of debits and credits as it relates to the GL.
  • Ability to establish respect and rapport with team and others.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to deal with interruptions.
