Sous Chef Position Overview

Gate Gourmet, a leading provider of catering and provisioning services, is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of food items according to menu specifications and recipes.
  • Coordinate with the food assembly team to ensure timely supply of food and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Supervise the quality and quantity of food production, adhering to company and customer requirements.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to new hires to ensure successful job performance.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and ordering processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a cook.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a high-volume food production environment.
  • In-flight catering experience or experience in a high-volume food service environment is an asset.
