Senior Accounts Payable Manager for Real Estate Firm

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Manager to join their team in Toronto, ON. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts payable operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily AP operations, including workflow management, invoice processing, vendor relationships, and internal/external inquiries
  • Provide timely feedback and coaching to AP specialists to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures documentation
  • Lead process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiencies, recommending changes to internal controls as needed
  • Oversee month-end AP close processes, including account analysis, reconciliations, and monthly accruals
  • Recharge reimbursable expenses to internal and external customers
  • Oversee employee credit card and expense reporting cycle
  • Conduct research on complex inquiries
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate cost recording and sufficient funding for upcoming payments
  • Analyze data to provide insights on financial performance related to purchases and payables
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of high-volume AP experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of AP concepts and basic accounting principles (debit/credit, journal entries, accruals, recharges)
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or Yardi (an asset)
  • AP experience in multi-entity and multi-currency organizations required
  • Experience with online banking and wire payments required
  • Time management skills with ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
