About the Role
The Associate Director, Real Estate Financing plays a pivotal role in supporting the Real Estate Financing team to achieve attractive returns on investments and ensure their full growth potential. This individual will assist the Managing Director and Senior Director with origination, due diligence, credit committee submissions, closings, portfolio management, and loan monitoring.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Active participation in the due diligence process and contributing to the preparation of credit committee presentations;
- Assisting with the credit application process, write-up of internal memos, and drafting of commitment letters;
- Preparing internal memorandums regarding transaction amendments on existing loans when required;
- Completing and analyzing due diligence searches, discussing results with the team, and verifying financial data;
- Collaborating with the team to perform ongoing portfolio management tasks, such as portfolio analysis, loan tracking, liaising with project parties, and making recommendations;
- Verifying, analyzing, and interpreting data (financial models, financial statements, market analyses, engineering reports) to inform senior leaders;
- Coordinating transaction activities with internal and external stakeholders;
- Contributing to research and development of business opportunities and attending prospect meetings;
- Maintaining current knowledge of the real estate environment through research and networking events;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Success:
To excel in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree;
- A professional designation (CFA, CPA, AACI, etc.) is an asset;
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience in real estate;
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
- Knowledge of loan structuring and documentation;
- Ability to analyze market trends and relate them to the Fiera Real Estate business;
- Capacity to operate in a fast-growing, results-driven environment while meeting demanding deadlines;
- Rigorous attention to detail;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
