About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority in Sydney. As a leading healthcare provider, we offer a unique opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to the development of innovative mental health programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to children and adolescents, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Participate in program development and implementation, such as the behavior disorders and early psychosis intensive program.
  • Offer consultations to other physicians and rural clinics, promoting best practices and improving patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to teaching programs and activities, sharing expertise and knowledge with medical students and residents.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
