Job Title: Child Care Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Care Operations Manager to join our team at Whycocomagh Lakeview Child Care Society.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our child care centre, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop. This role involves supervising staff, training, and volunteers, as well as coordinating with early childhood educators to implement programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development in children.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a child care setting, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise staff, trainees, and volunteers to ensure high-quality care and services.
  • Coordinate with early childhood educators to develop and implement educational programs.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked and organized environment.
  • Assist in record-keeping and submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Maintain knowledge of licensing regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Advise on menu selections and oversee meal planning.
  • Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions.
  • Prepare funding and grant applications and proposals.
  • Invoice clients and oversee payroll administration.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and manage financial records.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field.
  • Experience working in a child care setting, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and ability to maintain compliance.
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and food allergy and anaphylaxis training.

  • A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
