Job Overview

Calian Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation & Robotics Engineer to join our Nuclear team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development of robotic tooling for Nuclear reactor applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct scientific and technical project work for Calian Nuclear clients, ensuring high-quality deliverables and effective communication with stakeholders.
  2. Develop and maintain technical documents outlining research approaches, development procedures, and testing protocols.
  3. Collaborate with the Director to identify business opportunities and develop proposals that showcase our expertise.
  4. Support Project Managers in reporting to clients, reviewing team member work, and supervising project teams.
  5. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members, as well as project partners and stakeholders.
  6. Participate in conducting technical analyses and contributing to project teams.
  7. Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including potential business partners.
Requirements
  1. 5-10 years of experience as an Automation & Robotics Engineer in a similar capacity.
  2. A relevant degree in Engineering or Science.
  3. Strong working knowledge of ROS/ROS2, MoveIt, and professional software development.
  4. Experience with robotic systems architecture, Cobot manipulators, and UGVs.
  5. Proficiency in Python and C++ programming languages.
  6. Ability to integrate components from multiple manufacturers into a single robotic system.
Additional Requirements
  1. Ability to travel to client sites in the GTA and other locations as needed.
  2. Understanding of long-term generational projects and ability to contribute effectively.
  3. Experience with prototyping, fabricating, and 3D printing mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  4. Experience with CADD Modelling, particularly SolidWorks.
