Ignite Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join their team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the bank, focusing on compliance matters. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate-commercial banking environment.

About the Role
  • Provide legal advice on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer with all legal and litigation matters.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including the Bank Act, privacy laws, FCAC regulations, B10, B20, E-13, and RCM guidelines.

In this new role, you will report to the Chief Compliance Officer, CAMLO, head of the Legal Department. You will be responsible for reviewing contracts and agreements, as well as providing training to staff on legal and compliance matters. Working closely with other departments to ensure legal and regulatory compliance is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements
  • A law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Qualified to practice law in Canada.
  • At least 2 years of experience practicing law.
  • Superior analytical and communication skills in both legal and business settings.

The ideal candidate will have strong professional and academic credentials, with the ability to work independently on multiple files and prioritize them effectively while meeting deadlines. A salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year is offered, depending on experience.
