Job Opportunity:

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our Commercial Risk Governance group. As a key member of our team, you will specialize in alternative project delivery (APD) and provide expert guidance on contract law and risk management.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts and other legal documentation.
  • Support project teams in identifying and managing risks, and assist with the development and review of formal project documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Commercial Risk Governance to review and develop resources, templates, and reference materials.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with project teams by cultivating a deep understanding of Stantec's business and improving risk management practices.

Qualifications:

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Proactive, can-do attitude with strong drafting skills and a highly developed business sense.
  • Excellent communicator with a practical approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree and be admitted to the bar in the United States or Canada.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in contract law and APD, with relevant experience in risk management and project delivery.
