About the Role:Sofina Foods Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior In-House Counsel to join its team in Markham, Canada. This role involves providing expert legal services and policy guidelines to support the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and negotiate contractual agreements with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Administer the Concord contract management system and implement standard contract templates and workflows to improve efficiency.
- Lead corporate governance activities for Sofina Foods Inc. and its subsidiaries.
- Provide legal advice on marketing, promotional, and trademark activities to ensure compliance with laws.
- Assess the merits of cases filed by or against the company and work with management to develop a case strategy.
- A law degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in Canada.
- A minimum of 5 years of related in-house/law firm legal experience in Canada, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
- English/French bilingualism is an asset.
- Extensive legal experience in contract law, corporate/commercial law, trademark law, mergers and acquisitions, competition, and privacy.
An attractive salary of $140,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional development.
