Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapy department at Hamilton Health Sciences is a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing specialized respiratory care to critically ill patients. As a Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized respiratory care to critically ill patients in ICU, CCU, and other high-acuity units
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices
  • Perform ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, and airway management
  • Participate in Code Blue and RACE teams

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam
  • Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications
  • Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in adult critical care
  • Recent RACE experience preferred
  • Recent hyperbaric experience and/or training preferred
