CNTower is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Personnel to join our team as a Guest Experience Specialist. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all occupants of the CN Tower, while also providing an exceptional guest experience.

Job Description:

  • General Building Security: The Guest Experience Specialist will be responsible for general building security in all public and secure areas, operating 24 hours a day.
  • Crowd Control: They will also be responsible for general crowd control, maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests.
  • Metal Detectors and Bomb Detection Devices: The Guest Experience Specialist will operate metal detectors and bomb detection devices throughout the building, ensuring the safety of all occupants.
  • First Aid and CPR: They will administer first aid and CPR as needed, operating automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in emergency situations.
  • Lost and Found: The Guest Experience Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and controlling lost and found items, ensuring that all property is returned to its rightful owners.
  • Grounds Patrol: They will conduct regular grounds patrols, monitoring the premises and responding to any incidents or concerns.
  • Incident Reports: The Guest Experience Specialist will prepare incident reports, documenting any incidents or concerns that occur during their shift.
  • Alarm Situations: They will respond to alarm situations, such as fires, door breaches, and CCTV alarms, taking prompt action to ensure the safety of all occupants.
  • Notebooks and Audit Logs: The Guest Experience Specialist will maintain accurate notebooks and audit logs, including visitors, engineering, keys, and daily logs.
  • Investigations: They will conduct investigations into lost persons, occurrences where loss or damage has taken place, and critical/serious injuries, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Fire Watch and Safety Plan: The Guest Experience Specialist will conduct fire watch and initiate the Fire Safety Plan when required, ensuring the safety of all occupants.
  • Escorts and Communication: They will provide escorts and maintain communication with emergency agencies, including police, fire, and ambulance, as needed.
  • Visiting Dignitaries and Special Functions: The Guest Experience Specialist will provide escorts and security assistance to visiting dignitaries or special guests and functions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: A minimum second-year enrollment or graduation from a Protection, Security, and Investigation or Law Enforcement program is required, or equivalent experience in the military, police, or security field.
  • Security License: A valid Security License (ON) is required, specifically a security guard license.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification: First Aid and CPR level C certification is mandatory.
  • Smart Serve Certificate: A Smart Serve Certificate is also required.
  • Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal legislation and regulation in the area of security and life safety requirements/guidelines is an asset.
  • Bilingualism: Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is between $45,000 and $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The Guest Experience Specialist will also receive benefits, including health and dental coverage, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.

Location: This role is based at the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, and requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime as required.
