Job Title: Hardware Design and Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Design and Development Specialist to join our team at Teledyne FLIR. As a key member of our Hardware Engineering Team, you will be responsible for participating in all stages of the product lifecycle, from technical feasibility to product sustainment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Debug electrical issues at all stages of design, development, and manufacturing, including EMC/EMI
  • Interface with manufacturing to help reproduce, diagnose, and resolve issues on new and established products
  • Participate in the selection, specification, and procurement of equipment for all aspects of design, measurement, testing, and validation
  • Circuit design, schematic entry, printed circuit board layout, prototype testing, and manufacturing support
  • Integrate and test software and hardware components for the purposes of product development, modification, or improvement
  • Perform testing and modifications to validate regulatory compliance certification
  • Contribute to the development of the company's strategy, intellectual property, quality, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Write and edit technical reports, proposals, presentations, and other materials
Requirements:
  • Electrical engineering degree/diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a Hardware Engineer or relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex electronic designs
  • Strong understanding of mixed-signal design and signal integrity principles
  • Experience with board-level testing/troubleshooting techniques and EMI mitigation
  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience working with test and measurement equipment
  • Understanding of SMT assembly process and strong rework and hand-soldering skills
  • Experience with design simulation, test automation, analysis, and CAD tools
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of full product cycle from design to manufacturing
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of high-speed interfaces, like 10GE, USB3.1, or similar
  • Direct experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment
Salary Range:

$72,200.00-$96,300.00

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors, including location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
