About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Analyst IV, Casualty to join our team at AIG. As a key member of our Casualty Claims Unit, you will play a critical role in handling complex commercial automobile claims, including environmental cleanup and third-party property damage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze complex commercial auto claims to determine coverage and ensure compliance with operational guidelines.
  • Prepare and communicate disclaimer and/or reservation of rights letters to underwriters, brokers, and insureds as needed.
  • Investigate claims and provide direction to adjusters on investigation and resolution.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to bring about appropriate resolution of claims and ensure compliance with litigation guidelines.
  • Participate in mediation and ADR processes to resolve claims.
  • Negotiate settlements directly with insureds and other parties.
  • Issue payments in a timely manner and operate within best practices guidelines.
  • Inform management of all complaints, large losses, coverage issues, and other relevant matters.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience handling complex commercial automobile claims, including umbrella and excess.
  • College or university degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in managing litigation files and ability to make decisions and give directions to counsel and/or adjusters.
  • Strong negotiating and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills to navigate paperless claim file systems.
