Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Utility Coordinator Specialist to join our team at Trillium Guideway Partners.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the relocation and installation of wet utilities, including watermain, sanitary sewer, and stormwater sewer systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage relocations and installations of wet utilities;
  • Supervise engineering and construction activities to ensure compliance with project and city standards/specs;
  • Collaborate with design teams to review project designs for utility-related compliance with Utility Asset Owner and Utility Authority standards, specifications, and best practices;
  • Attend and participate in meetings with internal teams, external consultants, and municipal agencies to ensure alignment on project goals and utility integration;
  • Assist in formulating contractual strategies to enable smooth utility relocations and effectively incorporate utility work within construction contracts;
  • Conduct analytical reviews of relocation and protection costs/risks, advising project staff on necessary resolutions and compliance requirements related to utility agreements;
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive construction plans, overseeing subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets;
  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for utility-related work;
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure project plans and schedules are met;
  • Track and collect essential documentation for additional work, submittals, and billing backup, as well as monitor project schedule activity, including milestones;
  • Oversight of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations and Condition Surveys;
  • Perform additional administrative or project-related tasks as assigned, with occasional weekend and night work required.
Requirements
  • A valid Driver's License is mandatory;
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or a related field;
  • At least 2 years of experience in preparing technical drawings and reports related to utility projects;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, familiarity with GIS and other digital tools is a plus;
  • Experience with City of Toronto Specifications and standards for Wet Utilities is an asset;
  • Experience in AutoCAD and/or P6 Scheduling Software is an asset.
Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
