Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Description

The Infrastructure Relocation Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and managing the relocation of wet utilities, including watermain, sanitary sewer, and stormwater sewer systems. This role requires strong communication and project management skills, as well as experience working with engineering and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate relocations and installations of wet utilities, ensuring compliance with project and city standards.
  • Supervise engineering and construction activities, ensuring timely completion and quality workmanship.
  • Collaborate with design teams to review project designs for utility-related compliance.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with internal teams, external consultants, and municipal agencies to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Assist in formulating contractual strategies to enable smooth utility relocations.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of relocation and protection costs/risks, advising project staff on necessary resolutions.
  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for utility-related work.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance productivity and monitor subcontractor performance.
  • Track and collect essential documentation for additional work, submittals, and billing backup.
  • Oversee Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations and conduct Condition Surveys.

Work Conditions

This position is based in the Don Mills Area, North York, and requires occasional weekend and night work. A valid Driver's License is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in preparing technical drawings and reports related to utility projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, familiarity with GIS and other digital tools is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
  • A confident and positive demeanor, adaptable to change and challenges.
  • Experience with City of Toronto Specifications and standards for Wet Utilities is an asset.
