Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our pharmacists with dispensing prescriptions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the smooth operation of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet customers promptly, gather prescription information, and provide timely and pleasant service.
  • Dispensing: Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescriptions, accurately count and measure medications, and label prescriptions according to company standards.
  • Administration: Receive new and repeat prescription orders, prepare and submit orders, and manage third-party billing and accounts.
  • Prescription Workflow: Assist with prescription preparation, data entry, and refill request processing.
Requirements:
  • Education: Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College.
  • Registration: Registered with the corresponding provincial licensing college.
  • Experience: Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Skills: Effective organizational skills, ability to multitask, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
