We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
This full-time permanent position involves working as a Health and Safety Coordinator for our business unit in Hamilton. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline (OHS, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, etc.) and at least 3 years' experience in prevention and field intervention in a unionized industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Regular field visits to business units and various work sites (70% of working time in the field)
- Participate in and ensure the application of current OHS regulations, procedures, and work instructions on work sites and business units
- Assist staff in identifying existing or potential risks and help them implement preventive or corrective measures/actions and OHS indicators
- Participate in investigations and detailed analyses of events, inspections, and audits
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. They will be dynamic, autonomous, persevering, with a keen sense of organization and a team spirit. Additionally, they should have good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.) and a valid driver's license.
