About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Mattamy Homes. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our employees, contractors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Collaborate with site managers, construction teams, and trade contractors to ensure safe working practices and identify potential hazards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for enhanced safety performance.
  • Ensure that all necessary safety documentation is completed and maintained, including incident reports and safety training records.
  • Participate in incident investigations and provide support to the Health and Safety Manager as required.
  • Represent Mattamy Homes on the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and contribute to the development of safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in health and safety coordination and management in construction and residential real estate.
  • University degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, with optional training in technical applications, trades, or construction techniques.
  • OHS Provincial Certification and First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
