Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Adapted Recreation Program as the Special Needs Camp/Program Director. This role is responsible for the overall operation, planning, and administration of our Adapted Recreation Program, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for participants with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program plans, ensuring alignment with City of Toronto's recreation goals and objectives.
  • Provide training and support to staff and volunteers, promoting best practices in disability support and recreation.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and volunteers, ensuring a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with City of Toronto's financial policies.
  • Collaborate with community partners, promoting partnerships and ensuring program relevance to community needs.
  • Ensure compliance with City of Toronto's policies, procedures, and regulations, including health and safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with participants, families, and community stakeholders, promoting a positive and inclusive program environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Extensive experience working with individuals with special needs/disabilities in a recreation or related field.
  • Proven experience in program planning, administration, and staff supervision.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR certification.
  • Relevant education or certification in recreation, disability support, or a related field.
