Director Of Professional Practice, Education And Academic Partnerships Lead

At Summit Search Group, we are seeking an exceptional Director of Professional Practice, Education and Academic Partnerships to join our team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and operational management for a clinical area(s) and multigenerational/interprofessional team(s). This includes ensuring excellence in patient care, achieving corporate objectives, and creating a healthy workplace that maximizes employee potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nursing professional care delivery models within the interprofessional team context.
- Evaluate standards for effective optimization of Health Human Resources (HHR) to manage patient surge and health system pressures.
- Serve as the content matter expert for nursing practice, including legal and regulatory requirements, responsible for interpreting and developing standards of care aligned with best practice and evidence.
- Assess nursing practice, review critical incidents and events, identify risks, develop quality initiatives to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Promote, implement, and assess new technology to optimize patient care delivery – technology-enabled care and delivery – lead clinical product reviews, develop education, implement, evaluate, and plan for replacement cycles.
- Provide consultation to operational leadership on identifying, managing, and resolving competency, conduct, and capacity practice issues for nurses across the organization.
- Implement practice improvement plans for nurses requiring remediation and mandatory reporting.
- Oversee new nursing documentation requirements, leveraging evidence, best practice, and technological advances to support clinical decision-making.
- Maintain shared responsibility for managing staff, including Managers, Nurses, Resource Nurse, Educators, Physio Therapist, Physiotherapy Assistant, Sitters (PSW), Occupational Therapist, Clinical Assistants, Social Workers, Dietitian, Educators, Clerical Assistant, and Administrative Assistant.
- Develop, implement, and communicate performance measures; maintain knowledge of disciplines to facilitate conducting regular performance appraisals in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ensure staff meet professional practice standards, such as College of Nurses, College of Physiotherapy, etc., to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
- Determine and implement standards for staff skill levels, productivity, and education levels, ensuring appropriate certification/licensure.
- Determine training needs and implement training programs to improve staff performance; impart knowledge of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Provide professional and technical growth and development for staff and coordinate academic partnerships with educational institutions.
Requirements
- Theoretical and practical experience in adult education is required.
- Preferred: Educational program planning, development, and evaluation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program completion and Level II: Basic Rescuer certification are required.
- Specialty certification according to area of responsibility is required.
- Strong teaching and adult learning skills are required.
- Current membership in a related professional interest group or association is preferred.
Salary
An estimated annual salary of $110,000 - $140,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
