The Opportunity:

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a seasoned HR professional to lead and influence HR activities at our Edmonton manufacturing facility. As HR Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that HR planning and results are aligned with business needs, driving employee engagement, and fostering a positive work environment.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Manage the Human Resources function to ensure key initiatives are aligned with plant operational strategy.
  • Provide advice and guidance on Labour Relations matters, including grievance/dispute resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Track and monitor HR Key Performance Indicators, such as Attendance, Turnover, and Retention.
  • Facilitate execution of plant operations and corporate programs, including succession planning and orientation.
  • Prepare and administer the HR budget, ensuring effective control and spending within budget.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives related to Human Resources.
What You'll Bring:
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • CPHR designation preferred.
  • Minimum eight to ten years of related experience, with at least three years of management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of proactively managing Labour/Management relationships.
  • Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing people to achieve positions of greater responsibility.
  • Strong business and operational acumen, particularly within manufacturing and/or food processing.
  • Demonstrated initiative, drive, and leadership; excellent communication skills.
