About the Role

The Dementia Education Specialist will work independently and as part of a regional and provincial team dedicated to the mission and vision of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. This position is responsible for delivering consistent education programs and services within an assigned region, including standardized workshops and referral systems to connect clients to support services and information. Travel within the region is required.

This role reports to Manager, Community Services Interior & North.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Manager, Community Services, plan and implement education and information programs, ensuring that the expectations of service delivery are met and are consistent with the Society's strategic plan.
  • Coordinate the delivery of standardized workshops for caregivers, people living with dementia, and the public.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with health care professionals, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders through presentations, informal contacts, and information exchanges to build, maintain, and grow the referral network.
  • Maintain client records and statistical reports according to Society and legislative policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as required to meet the needs of the role in relation to organizational goals.

About You

You have a post-secondary education or relevant degree in health or social agency-related functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You bring related support and education experience in a human services environment, including public speaking, presenting structured education programs, group facilitation, peer support interventions, volunteer management, and developing communication connections.

Salary Range: $50,400 - $58,000
