About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Manager to lead our product research and development initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and growth through the development of high-quality, results-oriented products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a long-term technical product roadmap to drive company growth and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Oversee the product briefing process and ensure intentional development consistency with specifications from development through production.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and deliver products and strategy for launch and non-launch projects.
  • Manage and foster relationships with formulation partners and manufacturers, negotiating manufacturing or other agreements as needed.
  • Provide regular status updates to the Director of Product Development and track quarterly and annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Supervise the workload of direct reports, Team Members, and contractors, providing coaching and training as needed.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in product development, ideally in the Health, Beauty, or Personal Care Industries.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Chemistry, personal care science, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of skin care formulations, claims standards, and quality testing methodologies.
  • Project Management experience, including demonstrated ability to prioritize, scope, and oversee projects from beginning to end.
  • Working knowledge of cosmetic and OTC drug regulations in the USA and Canada.
  • Team leadership and management experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Vendor management experience and self-starter with effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Highly proactive, forward-thinking, and innovative, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Computer skills, especially MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and intermediate Excel.
